One of our Helper residents, returning from a week end in Salt Lake, advises The Journal of her opinion that while many of the capital city drug stores appeared to be enjoying splendid patronage, the Schramm-Johnso- n drug store to her seemed almost deserted. We are unable, of course, to ac counj, for such a reported condition in Salt Lake. But we do know that Helper has many splendid home-owne- d confectionery stores, soda fountains and drug stores who are enjoying good patronage. Their business has been built up thru honest dealing with the public, and the sale of worthy merchandise. These merchants constantly and regularly advise The Journal they are enjoying a slow but apparently steady increase in business. This, of course, is worthwhile news as it means that more and more of the money being spent for drug supplies, candies, sodas and other similar items is going into the hands of merchants who believe in keeping as much money at home as possible. Further, we would say these merchants are deserving of this support as they are accepted as a of the community, take an part war. Dogs don't go mad from eating raw meat Hot weather doesn't drive thim mad. And dog days In July and August have fewer rabies cases than are reported during the days of winter and spring. His trip thruout western states is being made for the purpose of commerce in increasing inter-stat- e the western area and to encourage diversification of effort wherever possible. It is Mr. Weigle's opinion that too many communities are gaining their livilihood from restricted effort, the local payrolls being confined chiefly to mining and railroads. Mr. Weigel believes other sidelines could be encouraged, including the raising of chickens for poultry and egg purposes in this community, and points out that local merchants annually import actually thousands of do;:ens of eggs from outside sections. The local raising of sufficient meat and egg poultry alone would aid materially in keeping much money at home which now is going outside of the county and even outside the state.
