Vi'li mil A meeting for the purpose of organizing a county league ct the B:vcball club3 of Carbon county for the coining season was held Jn Price Sunday afternoon, with representatives from many of the camps present. Election of officers was cf first importance at the session, and this resulted with Ray Deining of Price, president; Young cf Hiawatha, v.ice president; Harold Leonard of Price, Secretary and Lynn Lcavitt of Kenilworth, treasurer. The .constitution and were read and some revisions were made. A notable change made was the one that decreed a member of the club must have ail its players employees of its town, as well as residents, this was changed to read: just residents. The revisions made in tho 19 26 laws were to the satisfaction of all the respective 6 clubs. The name of the league was also changed to read Eastern Utah league (instead of Carbon county The Utah Educational Administrator's conference was brought to a close iu Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon, after a most satisfying program of three days duration. The lectures concerned the trend of modern methods of education, and proved forcibly that education is fast ferrying ahead. The first, a public meeting, was held in the West High school auditorium, Thursday evening, where President George Thomas presided. Profesor W. C. Reavis of the University of Chicago spoke on the "Problem Pupjil His Diagnosis and Treatment." At the Friday session Professor Frank W. Hart of the University of California gave an address on "The Demands of a Changing Civilization Upon Our Educational Institutions" in which he declared the cost cf education bad increased because of pressure from the public for the schools to assume new functions, which they could administer better than any and more economically other agency. It is also his opinion that expenditures for education by the coming generations will be two or three times greater than what is spCnt at the present, with the reason for the increase brought on by their fast multiplying functions. With parents wishing to leave all they amass to their children, education is a greater gift, than any other they could bestow, in Profes-r- o Hart's opinion. Professor W. C. Reavis addressed the general session held at the university Friday afternoon. He spoke of in part on the present wave student suicides and laid partial blame for the wave upon the shoul"Students ders of the instructors. should not be forced to pursue studies which are beyond their scope," ho said.
