Show "A Friendly Newspaper" • One of the most delightful musical evenings in local history was that of Wednesday when the Par~nt-Teacber association sponsored the appearance of seven artists from the utah Symphony in a .. miniatw·e syrnphonyu concert at Midvale city ball. The near-capa· city audience listened attentively to a of chamber music to that beard only in large cities and music centers. The tonal effects and techniques produced by the performers were really "out of this world." The community was also honored by having two distinguished guests in the audience-Maurice Abravanel, conductor of the Utah Symphony, and LeRoy Robertson, noted Utah composer. The local P.-T.A. and others who assisted are to be congratulated for bringing this splendid musical treat to this vicinity. Recently, Murray city and Sandy city have locked their dump grounds, and since that time, the Midvale dump has been .used extensively by persons who do not reside within Midvale city limits. According to the Midvale ordinance, only residents of Midvale city are permitted to use the dump. During the open days, Saturdays and Mondays, the local dump grounds will be supervised and intruders kept out.
