OSTLER, Correspondent Sandy Adopts Lower 1950 City Budget Following a public hearing Wednesday evening at Sandy Oity ball prior to the regular council m~et· ing, an estimated budget totaling $33,879.75 for the current year, was adopted by the Sandy Ctty Council, a decrease of 7,097.78 from that of 1949. Under the new accounting system inaugurated by the 1948-49 administration, three seperate funds have been set up. They include a general fund, a sewer and water system fund and a cemetery fund and each will operate within its own estimated budget system. Estimated revenues from all scources in the city for 1950 have been listed as follows: General property tax, $13,500, an increase of $300 over the estimated 1949 year; Business licenses, $700; Fines and forfeitures, $150; Lights and Franchise, $308.40; State Liquor fund, $2,702; Sundry revenue, $500, a decrease of ~450; Sewer rentals, $3300; Sewer connectiorut, $700; Water Sales, $25,000; Water connections, $1000 and water leases and rentals, $660 for a total estimated revenue of $48,520.40. SANDBURR CAMP, D. U. P. HEARS HISTORICAL TALKS Mrs. Mary Jane Lamb Robinson, widow of the late Oliver LeGrande Robinson, will observe her 86th birthday, Sunday, March 12. Mrs. Robinson, a daughter of Lisbon and Sarah Eleanor Brown Lamb was born March 12, 1862 in Salt Lake City but moved to F'armington with her parents, when she was a small child. She remembers the first school she attended, a one room adobe buildi11g which is at tb.e site of the Eamberger depot. Mrs. Robinson &!so attended the University of Deseret and later taught school at Farmington. She remembers that she sat on the lap of president arigham Young when she was a \'ery small child, and remembers the building of the Salt Lake • Temple. Mrs. Robinson has always been a worker in the L.D.S. church.. She Served as first counselor to Mrs. Aw·elia Spencer Rogers, the organizer and president of the first Primary organization. She also sang in the Farmington ward choir and was a member of the Farmington dramatic company. Mrs. Robinson was married to Oliver LeGrande Robinson, June 9 1886 in the Logan Temple. The • couple their home in Farmington made for several years, later moving to Salt Lake. They later moved to Elgin and Parker, Idaho and Ogden and Flowell, Millard county, Utah. Following the retirement of Mr. Robinson, they moved back to Salt Lake City. Mr. Robinson died in July, 1948. Since that time Mrs. Robinson has been making her home with her daughter and son-in·law, Mr & Mrs Samuel B. Neff. Mrs. Robinson is the mother of eight sons and davghters, four of whom are living. They are l\.1rs. Sarah R. Brower and Joseph L. Robinson of Flowell, Utah and Mrs. Ruth R. Chamberlain of Salt Lake and Mrs. Louise R. Neff of Sandy. She alse has 23 grandchildren and 24 great grand-children. Sandy Lady Lions Club Announces Next Meet The meeting of the Sandy Lady Lions club will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Violet Beers in Sandy it was an· nounced by Mrs. Barbara Carson, president who will be in charge. A program will be presented ineluding reports of a recent meeting hld at the Governor's room at the state capitol, Mrs. Barbara Carson, president; Mrs. May Swanger, secretary and Mrs. Maxine Hendrickson have been accepted as members of the Womens' state legislative council. Following the meeting refreshments will be served by hostesses Mrs. Eleanor Peterson and Mrs. Violet Beers. Sahdy Couple Awaits 64th Wedding Date Charles Collins Crapo and wife, Elizabeth Orgill Crapo will observe their 64th wedding day Saturday, March 11. Mr & Mrs Crapo attribute their happy mar· ried life to the fact that both have been willing to cooperate one with the other and offer praise instead of criticism. Mr. Crapo, 87, is still busy each day with his insurance and real estate business as well as doing numerous things around his home. His latest hobby is the remodeling of a building at the back of his home, which serves the entire !amily of children, grand-children and great grand-children as a recreational center. Mr. Crapo, a son of Jonathon and Emily Burnham Crapo, was born Nov. 1862 at Draper. Mrs. Crapo, a daughter of Joseph and Phoebe R. Orgill, was born Sept. D 13, 1866 at raper. The couple was married March ll, 1867 in the Logan Temple. He also served one term as state representative. Mr & Mrs Crapo are the parents of 9 sons and daughters, seven of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Ada McKean, Charles A. Crapo, J. Clement Crapo, Charles A. Crapo, Staniey Crapo, Mrs. Alpha Nelson and Eva Crapo all of Sandy and A. J. Crapo of Salt Lake City.
