The greater part ot the f~mds raised will be devoted to the education of the chilclen of St. Therese parish. The greatness of any community is measured by the education of 1ts young, for the child is father to the man. Proper training of the young will reflect its worth in the years of maturity. Education is more than an appeal to the vanity of youth in order to gain its popularity. If this is the aim of educatOJS, then their contribution is a make-believe--a bait that is .sugar-coated and poppy-cock. The real educator gets hold of the soul of the young, instilling into the youthful frame of mind the knowledge thaf Cod made every boy and gid to know him and to serve him here on earth and after to see and enjoy him forever in heaven. The children of the parish rue fortunate in having one day t::ach week devoted entirely to religion. Missionary catechists-nuns with university degrees and that splendid finish which a religious novitiate impartscome here every Saturday and about 70 youngsters meet for a full day's tfaining. and the one thing that will ultimately ~ount-the knowledge and love of God. On next Sunday the Most Rev. Bishop Hunt D.D. will visit St. Therese's and say the 8:30 mass. and preach at the 8:30 and 10:30 masses. As next Sunday falls within the ~reat Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the evening of Lhat day will witness tl1e dedication of the entire parish to our Ludy of the Miraculous Medal. \:Ve all love to wear souvenirs of those we cherish. Our A Lady, k.111.hving this instinct of the • human heart, appeared in the last century in Paris and actu;.tlly gave the Mhaculous Medal as we have it today, with the assurance that those who should wear it would enjoy her 3.11-powerfuJ protection for .UI their days. Goodrich and tests show that it rolls up more mileage than natural rubber, prewar tires. It's had more test backgrouod than any other B. F. Goodrich tire -and its ability ro outwear prewar tires has been proved in the laboratory and over 16,800,000 miles on taxi .fleets, police cars, and B. F. Goodrich test fleets. T he new t ire is made from a new, better synthetic rubber that helps it run cooler, wear better, resist cracking, bruis- ing and damage from accidents. The tire body is 35% stronger, with stronger cords than prewar, more of them ... and a double breaker strip instead of one. This exira strength makes possible a wider flatter shaped tread. Called the "road level" tread-it puts more rubber on the road to share the wear evenly. The tread design is made up of hu(ldreds of skid- resisting curves, providing quicker stops, surer startssafer driving. And this tire is backed by-· experience. Three years be· fore any other manufac1.11.rer, B. F. Goodrich sold tires containing synthetic rubber to American motorists. This extra store of experience shows up in the new tire- in extra mileage, extra safety and extra value. For longer, more even wear, for safer driving, get the be$1: tire value-the new B. F.
