Mrs. Ray Fenn and Mrs. J. 0. Jones won the bridge honors. Following the card games a dessert luncheon was served. Surprise Party GiTen .. For Jack Smith Mr. and Mrs. Jack L. Smith entertained at a surprise party for the 15th anniversary of their son,· Jack, Saturday evening in Sandy. Games were enjoyed and a delightful luncheon served to Betty Pierson, Beverly Morris, Dorothea Borg, Rita Martineau, Bonnie Ferguson, Luana Smith, Egon Johnson, Delbert Crump, Hal Whetman, Bob Swenson, Hal Hardcastle, Dale Hand, Earl Crews, Kendall Smith and the guest of honor. Mildred Vincent Enterains Club Miss Mildren Vincent entertained her Sewing club at her home in Sandy Thursday evening. The attractive decorations were ·carried out in yellow and green. P., Holds Meeting Friday Mrs. Bernice White was hostess to the members of Sandburr Camp, D. U. P., Friday afternoon at her home in Sandy. The meeting was in charge of Mrs. Elfleda Jensen, captain, and Mrs. Pearl Shaw, vice-captain. The lessons, "The First Missionary Program o:t the Church," was presented by class leader Mrs. Lillian Bispop. Mrs. Soph~ rona Bateman, who is nearing her 90th birthday told of some missionary expe;iences of her father, grandfather, and her husband, the late William L. Bateman. Minutes and historical events o:t early Sandy were read by the secretary, Mrs. Lila Woodhouse. A report of the county election of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, was presented by the captain. The singing was under the direction of Mrs. Madge Stapley and Mrs. Beth Sorenson. Following the meeting delightful refreshments were served. <From J. H. S. Broadcaster> The Jordan School District Music and Art Festival will be held at the Jordan High School Friday, April 24, from 9:00 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. Supervisor Emery G. Epperson has worked out a music schedule which will present the nine bands of the district playing their festival concert selections in the new gymnasium between the hours of 9:00 a. m. and 1:00 p. m. During these same hours the eight orchestras and nine choruses will be presented from the stage of the . . . . auditorium. m . par:1c1patmg The schools these events are B1ngbam High, D~aper Junio~, Midnle Jun~or, R1~erton ~umor, Sandy Junior,, Un1on Jumor, VVest Jordan Jun-1 ior, and Jordan High. Between the hours of 1:00 ?· m. and 3:00 p. m. the bands will be on parade and in maneuvers in the Jordan stadium. The Bingham High girls' posture parade will be an added attraction to this event. At the conclusion of the parades, three selections will be played by the massed bands of five hundred musicians.
