Friday evening members of the Ag Club of the Jordan District will enjoy a Christmas party at the Jordan high school, Miss Winnifred McDonald was a week-end guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Rock of Salt Lake. Mrs. Clarence Smith of Salt I I I Lake City spent Monday with Mrs. Leo Glover. Mr. and Mrs. Smith recently moved to make their home in Salt Lake. They were former residents of Union. Mrs. N. L. Forbush spent Sunday in Salt Lake City, guest of her sister, Mrs. M. M. Hand. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Thayne and children of Provo visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sharp and family enjoyed Tuesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Norris Sharp and children of Midvale, honoring the birthday anniversary of their son, Mr. Sharp. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Swenson motored to Bountiful last week and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lew Sanders. Mrs. I. A. Norris of Sandy was a visitor Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geneva Sharp of East Midvale. Mrs. Frank Hicks returned home last week from California where she enjoyed a visit with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Greathouse and George Hicks. UNION Members of the faculty of the Union school met Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brady and enjoyed an informal party. The men entertained for the lady teachers. Mrs. Zack Evans entertained in honor of her daughter, Ruth, at a birthday supper on Tuesday evening of last week. Ten guests we e present and had a very enjoyable time. Mrs. Robert Bradford visited with relatives during the week. She has returned to Salt Lake City where she will visit with her daughter. Mrs. Bradford expects to return to Los Angeles after the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardner and daughter of Salt Lake City 1 visited with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Olson on Friday of last week. There will be a ward social bonoring Hugh s. Finlayson, retiring member of the ward bishopric on Sunday evening, December 19, immediately after the sacrament meeting, which commences at 6:30. The time for the regular Sunday evening sacrament meetings has changed from 7:30 p. m. to 6:30 p. m. The ward officers met on Friday evening of last week with the ward bishopric. Many important matters were discussed pertaining to the different organizations and to the ward in general. Mr. and Mrs. John Krogh of Salt Lake City entertained in honor of the 75th birth anniversary of Mrs. Krogh's mother, Mrs. Araminta Egbert of West Jordan on Friday, December 3. The following sons and daughters of Mrs. Egbert were present: Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Egbert, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Egbert and Mr. and Mrs. Alma Egbert of West Jordan and Mr. and Mrs. William McKune of Salt Lake. Dinner was served to 11 persons, a large birthday cake with 75 candles formed the centerpiece for the dinner table and Mrs. Egbert received some. lovely presents from her children. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Egbert made a business trip to Heber City on Saturday evening after which they joined Mrs. Egbert's sister, Miss Murle Gardner, ~d attended a movie. The funeral of Joseph Glover , held in the ward chapel on Friday afternoon of last week was we!l attended by many relatives and friends. Mrs. George Shields and daughter Utahna of Salt Lake and a boy friend ~f Los Angeles, Callfornla, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Gardner on Sunday. Mrs. Shields is the mother of Mrs. Gardner. A number of ward priesthood members attended the special Social Security meeting of the church at Barrett Hall in Salt Lake Sunday morning. Irving Abbott returned home from the L. D. S. hospital last Thursday where he underwent an operation for appendicitis. Miss Mary Meldrum is confined to her bed with scarlet fever. Mrs. Clifford Steadman, Mrs. Ethel Sharp and Charles Steadman were Salt Lake visitors Manday. Carolyn, the 5 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen C. Hogan, underwent an operation for the removal of her tonsils adenoids and four teeth last we~k and i~ recovering nicely. Mr. Hogan is still in the Bingham hospital where he I has been since his accident. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Huffaker and two children and Don Johnson of Magna were dinner guests of Mr. and M1s. C. M. Beckstead on Sunday. Mr. A. L. McAllister joined D. R. McAllister of Salt Lake and Arthur McAllister of Amencan Fork on Sunday morning to be at the bedside of their brother, Walter McAllister, of Kanab, who died the same evening. SANDY Gardner Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will hold their . annual Chrtstmas party at the home of Mrs. Lettie Sanders at 2376 East 34th South street in Salt Lake City Friday, December 17, at 2 p. m. A lighted Christmas tree and an exchange of gifts will be the main event of the afternoon. A fine program has also been arranged. Bertha Richards and Berneice Berkinshaw have charge of arrangements.
