Midvale, Utah Quality at Reasonable :..-__P_rl_ce_s_ _• ~lerchandise ~fSociety~ Bridge Tournament Ends Most successful financially as well as socially was the bridge tournament sponsored by the entertainment committee of the Mid· vale Ladies' Community club during the month of October. The tournament was held each Thursday evening at the club rooms on East Center street in which 65 ladies participated. Contract prizes were won by Mrs. H. E. Phelps, Mrs. Archie Nelson of Midvale and Mrs. C. E. Bartlet of Salt Lake City. The auction award was won by Mrs. Melich of Midvale while the house prizes were awarded to Mrs. George Cox, Mrs. D. A. Brown and Mrs. Louis Goff of Midvale and Mrs. C. N. Jensen of Sandy. Prior to the tournament Mrs. Ardella Welch, of the Utah Power and Light company demonstrated the uses of en electric roaster. The demonstrator also made a sponge cake with icing made in an electric mixer. This was won by Mrs. Pearl Steward. Mrs. Hollis Aylett won the cooked meal. Community Club Holds Interesting Meeting Amost interesting program was presented by the Midvale Community club ladies Wednesday afternoon at thP.ir club rooms on East Center street. Mrs. Harold Nelson, presid~nt presided. Various matters of business were discussed Mrs. Scena Tracy, publicity chairman was in charge of the fine program. Mrs. Archie Nelson delighted with two musical numbrrs. Mrs. Williams of Salt Lake City gave an interesting travelogue on her recent visit to Europe and displayed various souvenirs which she acquired while on her trip. Hostesses for the afternoon included Mrs. Meta Theasen, Mrs. Vern Lester, Mrs. Leon Rasmussen, Mrs. C. E. Matthews and Mrs. Mose Garf.
