Hollis Aylett, whose victorious battle slogan was "Born and bred an executive" will mount the steps of the pilot's bridge and assume the duties of steering the ship of municipality. With Mr. Aylett will be associated a council of five, three of whom are newly elected, one re-elected and one holdover from the present holdover The administration. councilman is Robert Wallace, elected to serve a four-year term in 1933 . . . Ed. C. O'Brien, reelected, and Dr. A. V. Lindsay, George A. Wright, and Tyler R. Vincent; Louis Goff, treasurer; Mrs. Vera Van Horne, recorder. Dr. Lindsay was elected to serve for four years. Yowsir . . . this writer's horses came in three lengths behind their jockeys . . . that is with the exception of one · . . . for I only scratched the New Deal ticket on one line . . . and that's that. The casting of my vote was purely a personal enterpnse, and had no connection with The Sentinel, its business associates or employees. The meager facilities of this paper were in no way used for or against either party . . . and now that the election is over, I hereby tender the facilities of The Sentinel to the newly elected officers and pledge to work in perfect unison with the new administration (Continued on page 9.) Garclner was elected mayor of Sandy City on a non-partisan ticket in the city election held on Tuesday. Other officers elected include: Wilford Pierson, four-year councilman; L. E. Peterson, S. E. McKean, E. Ray Beck, Albert Hardcastle, two-year councilmen; L. E. Van Darn, recorder; and Noal Bateman, treasurer. Book Review To Feature Civic Arts· Club Meeting Salt Mrs. Emma Gardner of Lake will give a book review at the next meeting of the Women's Civic Arts club of Sandy to be held Thursday, November 14, at Sandy junior high school. Other numbers on the program will include: vocal solo, Mrs. Eme"'y G. Epperson of Salt Lake; current events, Mrs. Glenn W. Richards. The meeting will be under the direction of Mrs. Charlotte Sorenson, president. Hostesses will be Mrs. J. E. Fordham, Mrs. George D. Charlier, Mrs. Ethel Dastrup, J\fr!4. Efforts to enroll members in the Red Cross during the annual roll call from November 9 to 13, will be carried to churches, lodges, Lions' clubs, Womens' organizations and schools in Salt Lake county it has been announced by chairmen of the various districts.
