Poultry Doctor Discusses Problems f Producers Dr. Arthur D. Goldhaft of Vineland, New Jersey, director of the laboratorie~l, Vineland research Fl'iday diseases talked on poultry to a large group of poultrymen of South Salt Lake county assembled at Draper. Dr. Goldhaft gave a brief history of the development of vaccine for pox and bronchitis reviewing experiments with these in various parts of United States and Canada. He stated that control of disease is a far more important factor for success of the western poultryman than cost of feed and eggs. The speaker suggested that a high order of intellig-ence and industry along with careful study are needed for success in the business, laughing at the idea that anyone can find a life of ease in keeping poultry. He urged producers to use a careful system of keeping records of mortality as a means of controlling diseases. The pox germ, he claimed, is carried by a mesquito which lives over winter in our climate often spreading the disease to new flocks the next spring. Only the most strictly enforced sanitation can control disease of the flock. Servic e with SPEED CARE Apprecia tion Low Cost Drive To L Fast color.s!
