Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Soffe and family attended the Shields family reunion which was held Friday of last week at West Jordan. Mrs. Margaret Householder visited Monday afternoon with Mrs. Lester Forbush. • Mrs. M. Hand and Mrs. George Hilton were Salt Lake visitors Monday, guests of Mrs. Henry Atwood. • Ward officers held their regular monthly meeting Monday evening in the ward chapel. After the business hour, refreshments were served by the M. I. A. officers. Mrs. Mina Nelson entertained • Thursday evening of last week, honoring Primary officers. The game of "Hearts'' was played, prizes going to William Kartchner and Mrs. Emery Brady. Mrs. M. J. Thornton was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thornton of Salt Lake . Mrs. Lester Forbush visited Thursday of last week with Mrs. Charles Burgon of Union. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Glover left Saturday for a trip to Yellowstone park. Mrs. Wallace Cox had as her visitors Thursday and Friday of last week her mother, Mrs. Kathleen Falkner, and her brother, Will Falkner of Portland, Ore. They were called here to attend the funeral of Richard Falkner, little eight-year-old son of Will Falkner, who died August 9 at a local hospital, following an operation for appendicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Schmidt and •' family motored to Heber, Sunday, and spent the day with Mr. and Mrs . Frank Pop. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ash.ment and family, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Pruhs and family of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson and family of Midvale motored to Saratoga Sunday and enjoyed bathing and luncheon. Little Eugene Millerberg is report· ed to be improving after being confined to his bed the past week, suffering from influenza. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Millerberg. Mrs. Annie Greenwood entertained at a quilting party Tuesday of this week at her home on Social avenue. The "Lark" class of the Primary, accompanied by their leader, Mrs. Charles Young, enjoyef,l bathing and lunch at Murray park, Friday of last week. Charles Sharp, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bradford and little son, Wayne, motored to Magna Sunday and were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Sharp and son, Jack, and Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon and little son, Harry, of Salt Lake, visited Monday evening with Charles Sharp and family. Phil Sharp, who is general manager of the wholesale dry goods department of the Z. C. M. I., expects to leave Saturday for New York in the interest of the company. Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Greenwood motored to Ogden Sunday and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. B_. M?Gilbary. They enjoyed an outmg m Ogden canyon. All members of East Midvale ward are invited to join in a trip to Lagoon Monday evening, August 25. All parts on the program were from the Sandy Third ward. The East Midvale ward Primary was reorganized Sunday evening at the sacrament meeting, under direc· tion of the bishopric. Mrs. MiiJ?-a Nielson, president; Mrs. Terese Mlllerberg, first counselor, and Mrs. Marie Robbins, second counselor, were released with a vote of thanks for services render for years past, and new officers were sustained as follows: Mrs. Zoe Adams, president; Mrs. Alice Millerberg, first counselor, and Mrs. Martha Oakeson, . second counselor. Remarks, Mrs. Ahce Burgoo of the stake board. Miss Anna Johnson of the stake board also was in attendance. The members of the M. I. A. Junior class and their leader, Mrs. R. H. Clayton and family, returned home Saturday morning from Big Cottonwood canyon, after spending a week at Community camp. Mrs. Andy Swenson was a Sandy visitor last Thursday, the guest of Mrs. Irene Jensen. A number of friends, relatives and neighbors gathered at her home on Tuesday a~ter noon, honoring her birthday anru versary. Games and refreshments were the main diversions of the afternoon. Mr and Mrs. Bert Glover and children ·spent Friday and Saturday in Big Cottonwood canyon. • Leonard Millerberg entertained for members of his Sunday school class last Thursday evening.
