Awards were made b> Scout Commission er E. L. Crawford Vanguard badges were awarded to Nell<> Scouts Theron Hutchings, Beckstead and Eldred Beckstead. Mt>rit badges in Handcraft to Eldreo Beckst11ad and all of troop 323. Scout Oral Aylett, Melvin Weenig ana Troop 120 were awarded merit badge~ in Cycling. Recommend ations were made by scoutmaster s and awards were made by Commission er E. L. Crawford. Theron Hutchings spoke on merit badge work. Bishop Hyrum Stockini:' gave interesting events in the life of President Jo!leph F. Smith. Closing prayer was offered by Emanuel M. Olson. On Thursday evening, March 6th, the Stake Presidency and High Council met with the Bishopric's in the regular monthly meeting, many problems pertaining to Stake and ward work was discussed. Sunday March 9th the board of Education met to further plans in the Seminary department. The monthly home missionary meeting was held with a good attendance Sunday, March 9, at 1 p. m.. 'l'he regular Priesthood meeting of the Stake was held Sunday March 9th with a very ~ood attendance and during the session Elder Robert L. Judd, a member of the General Sunday school board held a conference with the Bishops to give a report of the survey that was made in the Sunday schools throughout the Stake some time ago and made reccomendation s to help in that part of the work. • In the Relief Society department the regular classes were conducted. Ella M. Beckstead having charge of of the Geological work. Elnora Beckstead the Social service work and Mae Glazier the Literary part of the work. In the department of the presi- <·--·-·-·-a-·-·· PI -a- dents and counsellors, Elder Parish of 3alt Lake, a not :.:~t, gave an interestIng talk on proper planting and cultiv<l.l.ion or home t1ower and gardens, how to get the best harmony in small and large groups of color and hardy plants, trees and shrubs. Sunday night bonae missionaries visited in the wards during sacramenta l service: Bluffdale, Joseph M. Sinith and Jeneve Uardner; Bingham, William c_ Crump and Wilford J. Myers; Lark, Bishop Hyrum Stocking and Golden Tempest; Herriman, Armond F. Rundquist and Willis Jacobson; Riverton .l:<'irst ward, Morris Butterfield and Leo D. Bills; Riverton Second ward, Lawrence Dahl and Henry C. Cooley; South Jordan, Theodore N. Hutchings an\1 Elder Cline; West Jordan, Renold Bills and Reed Beckstead. The scout training course that is being held every Monday night under the supervision of Field Secretary Roberts is very interesting and instructive to the boys. On Monday night, March 10, the boys will be taught in the mechanism or miniature airplanes. The West Jordan stake Primary will hold a convention Sunday, March 16, In the South Jordan ward chapel with meetings at 9 a. m. for stake executive; at 10:30 a. m. for board members, in the stake board room; at 2 p. m. for all local Primary 1vorkers, priesthood and general public. Mrs. Isabell S. Ross of the general superintend ency will be in attendance and a good representati on of the stake is desired. RIVERTON The marriage of Miss Bertha Bills, daughter of Mrs. Della Bills, and Parley Harrison, son of Alma Harrison of Crescent took place last Tuesday in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison will make their home at Crescent. Miss Zelda Bills sister of the bride entertained at a shower at her home Wednesday in her honor, games were played and refreshment s were served to 30 g¥ests. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Jensen visited Sunday at Ogden with Robert Jones whose home is at Nq.rth Platte, Neb.
