Jordan High Defeats Grantsville Five 26-24 After being smothered in a barage of baskets in the first quarter, the Beetdigger quint came back ftghting to overcome the fighting Grantsville team by the close score of 26 to 24 in the first high school basektball league game of the 'Beason. Led by the senastional shooting of Hale, flashy Grantsville forward, the home team had the Jordan boys on the under side of an 11-2 score at the end of the first quarter. Acting Captain Butterfield of the visitors and his teammates refused to quit, however, and passed Grantsville by three points at the close of the halt, which ended 14 to 11. The visiting Beetdiggers kept going in the third quarter to boost their total to 24. Hall again ''went wlld" in the last canto and the home quint rallied strongly, but the gun sounded with Jordan leading 26 to 24. . The Jordan guards played good ball most of the time and Butterfield did some good work to score 12 points. All eyes, however, were centered on Hale, the small Grantsville forward, who kept his team in the nanning up to the end of the game by his miraculous shooting. Summary: JORDAN G. T. F. P.
