The Tooele council, at its meeting il:onday night, according to Information received here, unanimously granted the fifty-year franchise as asked for by John T. McFadyen, vice president of the Ohio Oil company and 11. B. Denning, president of the Lone Star Gas company, without making changes in the terms proposed in the application of these representatives of the pipe line builders. It is expected that the commissioners of Tooele county will act some time this week on the application for a franchise under which a branch transmission line can be extended thru the county to the town of Tooele, which will be its terminus. Other communities that have been • asked to grant service or distribution franchises are Midvale, Murray, Sandy, Bountiful, Centerville, Clearfield, Farmington, Kaysville and Layton, also Salt Lake and Ogden. Application has been made to the commissioners of four counties for franchises. These, in addition to Tooele county, are Salt Lake, Davis and Weber counties. Surveys for the natural gas pipe line have advanced to the point at which construction of the transm!salon line can be started whenever the needed local franchises are obtained, it was stated by C. R. Hetzler, the engineer who has been directing this preliminary work. "This would be • ideal weather for pipe line building," he said. L.
