Eight trailers are located at Flagg Ranch, two miles from the south entrance of Yellowstone National Park, off State Highway 191 and U.S. 287. The cost is $70 per night. It is convenient for visitors to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Flagg Ranch has a convenience store, horseback riding, rafting, a restaurant and public showers, and is a short walk from the Snake River. The five trailers at Lionshead Resort are eight miles from Yellowstone's west entrance off U.S. 20. The cost is $60 per night. For children, the site offers playground facilities and two stocked ponds for fishing. A full service restaurant and bar, convenience store and laundry are located in the resort within walking distance from the trailers. For the nature enthusiast, hiking and nature trails begin on the resort grounds. Just up the road is Diamond "P" Ranch which specializes in horseback riding for the whole family. During the rental season, daytime temperatures often average in the 70s while nighttime temperatures can drop into the 30s and 40s. It isn't uncommon to have snow on the May-Septemb- 26-fo- ot ground during May, and it has snowed as late as June or July due to the higher elevation. While shorts may be comfortable during the day, a coat or jacket may be needed at night.
