Show yIGHTE. 388th Fighter Wing supplement to the Hilltop Times Aug. 27,1998 Twice Monthly Teamwork, enthusiasm reflect well on wing in Hard work preparing for, executing inspection results in 'long list' of superior performers By Col. Mike Hostage 388th FW Commander Let me begin by congratulating the entire 388th Fighter Wing for your effort and hard work in preparation for and execution of our Phase I inspection. Our long list of superior performers and superior teams is testament to the strong unit cohesion that is a hallmark of the 388th. As I have been stressing all along, our primary objective was the safe and effective deployment of the people, cargo and jets to their deployed location. You did that, with superb teamwork and great enthusiasm. I know 'some of you are concerned with the overall grade, since you are used to seeing an excellent or outstanding overall assessment. However, we are breaking new ground in the arena of inspections and all of us, the IG included, are having to get used to new perspectives and parameters. The fact that we were successful and we met mission tasking, speaks volumes for our team. I am proud of your effort and you should be tool The bottom line is that we got the mission done safely and effectively. The comment from the IG which made me most proud was the overwhelming sense of enthusiasm and teamwork they noticed from the 388th FW. You surely showed them what it means to be professional warriors! It is important we not forget the 75th Air Base Wing team and their role in our effort. Their support was critical to our deployment and we owe them a great vote of thanks. To be sure, there are some areas we can bolster this support and we will work closely with our 75th Fuuj ns " 3 I Mediterranean m"' Sea pre-flig- ht inspection on an compatriots to do so. In the end however, we are all Air Force teammates and we all focused on making the mission a successful one. Now we look forward to the next challenge. The Phase II Operational Readiness Inspection, scheduled for fall of 99, promises to be another trend setting effort. We are currently scheduled to execute a combined inspection with several other units. As with this Phase I, we will be breaking new ground in the world of inspections.
