Although simple tasks can be hard for him because of his lack of motor skills, he is extremely knowledgeable in at least 14 to 16 areas including world history. "He has an extensive library and spends a lot of time reading." Some of that reading includes ZIP code and telephone directories and atlases. Given any small city. Peek can name the area code, ZIP code, major highways and rivers and even the television stations viewed in that particular town. His father explained that his condition was caused by damage pre-birt- h See inside tbe to his brain. "Kim's problems stem from missing parts." he said. While most people have a left and right hemisphere in the brain, he explained. Kim does not have the tissue separating the two. leaving him with one hemisphere end a 30 percent larger brain than the average person. In 1988. doctors took 3.600 pictures of Kim's brain. Among other things, they discovered that he can read two pages simultaneously, one with the left eye and one with the right, with a 98 percent comprehension levei. Although his knowledge level is 184 compared to the average person's 100-10. Kim's capabilities for reasonlimited. are ing '"Kim is totally honest and trusting." says his father. F-1- 6 planes at tbe museum Admission: one can of food The Hill Aerospace Museum will open some of its display aircraft to the public from 9 a.m.-- 4 p.m. Sept. 23. "Food for during its Life' drive. Normally, the public is not allowed inside the museum's vintage birds, but twice each year, the public can get hands-oan tour forthe fee food item per of one person. The food collected is donated to a local charity. "This is also an opportunity for the public to see up close the work of restoration and preservation done on the aircraft by our entirely volunteer staff," said John McCleary. the museum's director. Oobemoiftf ond h The Hill Aerospace Museum currently has 55 Air Force aircraft on 4 F static display including an Phantom, an A-2- RF-4- C Invader and an 6 Thunderjet that were put on G display this year. Inside the museum's gallery are 14 aircraft, including a BT-1and an SR-7Blackbird Admission to the Hill Aerospace Museum is free (except during the Food for Life drives). Donations are accepted. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m.4:30 p.m.. and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a m. 5:30 p.m. The facility is closed every Monday, Thanksgiving. Christmas and New Year's.
