The woman. Darlene Davis of Layton, was horseback riding in the canyon with two others when her horse slipped and she fell off into a creek. The horse fell on top of her, leaving Davis with a compound fracture with bone exposed in one leg, according to news reports. The accident occurred about 3:30 Friday afternoon but it took Davis' companions more than an hour to reach a telephone. Then, local rescue officials were unable to get Davis out of the area because of the rugged, remote terrain. It was almost 8 p.m. when they contacted the Hill AFB Command Tost, asking for the assistance of a helicopter with a hoist to lift the woman from the canyon. 70-degr- ee f. ot co-pilo- t; . para-rescuema- - n less-than-perfe- e 10-1- 5 crew-worke- Seriously, we want to hear your war stories!
