For instance, when they have lasagna, they only have two or three servings left for the evening shift. Can something be done to provide adequate food for the swing shift personnel? The food products purchased for and prepared by the base restaurant operation are subject to inspection by U.S. Air Force Hospital, Hill medical personnel. Only the most wholesome and highest quality products are accepted by the restaurant and offered for consumption. Food is prepared by a competent and professional team. It is possible a popular entree item, such as lasagna, could be quickly exhausted, but other items would be offered in its place. It is difficult to predict what quantity of a particular entree to prepare. Variables such as overtime, work force and customer choice vary widely from day to day. Nevertheless, base restaurant management and staff are committed to providing the best customer service and , product possible. Restaurant operations will more closely moni- tor demand for specific entree items and alter swing shift food preparation accordingly. I We do have a very active recycling pro-M- 1 as a matter of interest, it is the gram most active program of its kind in the state of Utah. It has been determined that a curbside recycling program in military family housing would be uneconomical at this time. However, there are a number of drop-of- f points throughout the base where residents can leave their recycle items. The recycling program's central processing unit is in Bldg. 1248 in the west area, and complete information on this program can be obtained by calling Ext. interferes Cleaning Most businesses have janitorial services jffk performed after working hours when it doesn't interfere with the working people. Here the janitorial services are accomplished during business hours, which is very disruptive because no matter what work we're doing, we have to get up and leave when the vacuums come through. and interferes I feel it is hand. Why don't they with the mission at contract for services to be performed after working hours? counter-producti- jfA ve I agree that it would be convenient for all facilities' occupants to have custodial servafter duty hours. We have looked ices performed at the" possibility e numerous-times-overth- years 63 57 Unfortunately, it is not prudent to make the change because of several factors including security, cost savings and energy requirements. Potential for security problems would increase significantly. Contract costs presently are negotiated for the day shift. Changing to night shift would appreciably increase the cost of the contract. Accomplishing custodial service after normal shift v would increase energy consumption due to the need to provide lighting after 6 p.m. during winter months. For those reasons, especially in these times of a declining budget, the majority of custodial services will continue to be accomplished during normal duty hours. Someone will, however, speak to the custodial contractor and advise him of the need to minimize disruptions to the work area. As a general rule, people in the work area should not be required to leave. Proof of ID went to the hospital emergency they confiscated my ID card because it was mutilated by the personnel there. Supposedly they were to turn it in to security police. They said they were authorized to confiscate it without giving me any kind of hand receipt or anythfng,and so I was left this weekend without an ID card. When I checked to see if the old one was turned in, it seems nobody knew anything about it. I'd just like to know what the procedure is and who is actually authorized to confiscate a military ID card? QWhen I In accordance with Air Force Regulation any commissioned officer, NCO or security policeman may confiscate an ID card which is expired, mutilated or being misused. Also, civilian employees of benefit and privilege activities (i.e., commissary, base exchange, etc.) may take the card. Normally, the security police are called when an ID card is confiscated and a DD Form 1408, Armed Forces Traffic Ticket, is issued with instructions to replace it within 72 hours. The individual is permitted to keep the ID card unless it is expired. In your case, the emergency room staff were misinformed on procedures (which have been corrected). The security police did receive the ID card and disposed of it properly. verted into two lanes with a painted median, ana 1,000 feet north of Browning there will be a lane reduction from three to two lanes. I have attempted to purchase a la carte or half portions, but the cafeteria does not do this. Can't they provide smaller amounts of food other than soup, sandwiches and salads? JH1 The base restaurant prides itself on its offerings; a wholesome product of high quality and tops in value. Restaurant management tells me if patrons find the normal entree offerings too generous, a la carte is available. .Meat entrees, when purchased a la carte, include dinner roll and butter. In addition, vegetable side dishes are available, as are noodles, rice, potatoes and gravy. Thanks for the favorable comments on the restaurant. Several times I've come very close to being hit when a car in the right hand lane proceeds on through and doesn't merge. I really feel like something should be done; either take down the signs that say people driving in that lane have to turn right, or enforce the signs and give tickets to people who don't turn right. The problem of going from three lanes to two can lead to potential accidents.
