He need not worry. His concerns were from early practice sessions where few players showed, but that's not the case as experience will play a major factor for the Falcons this season. Early reports indicate a superior team thanks to a better than average number of experienced players returning, plus a group of new faces that will complement the Falcon lineup. Their reputation goes on the line Saturday as the Falcons are in action for the first time this season. The Division One team, part of the Utah North Soc cer Association, has several things going their way this year, one being they play all their games at home. "We're ready. But we are a completely different style of team this season," said Ray Uris, player coach for the Falcon team. "We have a bunch of new faces on the squad. We are fortunate to have a good nucleus coming back from last season's team as well." Hill's club will play the first of a double-headegame time starting at 4 p.m., as the Falcons cross divisions, playing Felt Auto from Division Two. The second game will feature prolific champs Ski Mania from Division One against Division Two Los Aguilas. "We have an excellent schedule again this season," said Uris. "We're looking forward to many good games. We hope to get good fan support again this season." Coming back to the Hill roster, Pat Messam, Tom Pollock, Jess Reynoso, Derek Beresford, Mike Haas, Bart Sullivan, Roberto McFarlane, Bruce White, Andy Hubb, Roy Dietzman and Russ Wain-wright round out the returning players. Several new faces, such as Glen Bowden and John Reekie, join r, the squad. The Division One League consists of the Falcons, Ski Mania who is considered the team to beat Ranco Rental of Ogden, Utah, and Coke of Ogden. . The Falcons were vying for a berth to play in the national tournament, but fell short in the double elimination tournament by losing their first round outing to FriD.C. Insurance, Denver, day night, then dropping an extra inning game Saturday morning to Wils Family, being forced out of the tournament. "We had a weak offensive showing both games," said Dave Ab- -' bott, manager of the Hill varsity team. "We have a lot of players with potential talent. They have great softball skills, but haven't had an opportunity, to face the same caliber of fastpitch pitchers that we faced last weekend. Our club could use some batting cages to practice with during the off season."
