The winner will wear the crown now being worn by the 1987 Rodeo Queen, Chantel LaRoque of C)QD0DD GE?7DD Hooper, Utah. Contestants, all from Utah, are judged on horse- manship, appearance and personality. Competition begins with a 9 a.m. breakfast in the NCO club May 14, followed by judging on personality, appearance and other points. At 5 p.m., contestants journey to the Golden Spike Coliseum in Ogden, Utah, where the horsemanship judging takes place. Afterwards, the queen and her attendants are named. A myriad of gifts await the queen and her attendants. The queen receives a hand-toolesaddle, the attendants other gifts, like saddle blankets, hats, halters, trophies and silver trays. .
