We trust the associations will endeavor as far as possible to observe the published instructions of the general superintendency. It has been the practice in the past for the Associations in the city to have occasional public lectures on other evenings than thone upon which, their regular meetings are held. This is very commendable, and should be continued, and to facilitate the securing of suitable lecturers it has been deemed advisable to appoint a lecture committee whose business it will be provide suitable lecturers for all the associations that may require them. Elders if. G. Park, A. W. Carlson and J. W. Summerhays will constitute this committee, and associations re quiring a lecturer will please apply to one of these brethren. The first two may be found during business hours at Z. CM. Land Brother Summerhays at H. B. Clawsons place of business, just west of the Council r. House. There are many persons amonz us who are capable of delivering inter esting and instructive lectures upon various suDieccs, wno nave not yet appeared as public lecturers. The committee will doubtless enlist the services of such persons, and the re sult win be that a greater amount of talent in this direction will be developed, and the associations correspondingly benefited. ; These miblic lectures should not In any case be allowed to interfere with the regular meetings or the Associa tions. He eventually obtained bis seats In the lower part of the house, but not until a friend came along and directed the usher to give them to him.
