Tomorrow the Liberal party of Weber county will put up a ticket and it will then be ready to give all the reasons which have impelled it to refuse to go into the new party division scheme. In this trml of issues before the jury of the voters of Weber county, the Liberal party will ask a candid hearing of its principles and a careful consideration of the correctness of its position. This is no ordinary political canvass. It involves this question: Is not the purpose of this party division scheme the procurement of statehood just as soon as possible? And ou that hinges this other question: If Utah is admitted as a state, Bay within three years, will not the Mormons take political possession of it and practically rule it as they have done heretofore with the territory? And if they do that, two more questions arise at once: Will they not cling together and discriminate against all Oentiles in every wey possible, just as they have done in the past? And then, will not all Gentiles of all the other states in the Union refuse to come to Utah, as they used to do, thus keeping capital out of the new state, thus insuring Mormon dominance for generations, with certain depression in real estate and all lines of business to follow as a logical consequence? And, also, will not three other things follow: That there will be no free schools in the state as there have been none in the territory? That the Mormon church will be the tate as it has always been? That polygamy, if not formally restored, will be tacitly permitted as a legitimate practice. These are very big questions, so large that the issue of the tariff dwindles into insignificance beside them. As the greatness of those problems rises superior in importance to that of the old party revenue theories, so does the mission of the Liberal party overshadow for the present that of both the Democratic and Republican factions. The Liberal party has more than mere theories to present it has a cause to defend. And that cause must and will be supported by the conscience of the people, because it is just and right. Scouts of Liberals who bad been at tending to businees and had not thought seriously on politics for a long time are becoming aroused and joining the Lib eral ranks every day. Literary Soles. It will be at the Grand lhursday evening. In tLeir Pacific ooat tour they travel soout IO.iHaJ mile, and only visit half a djzen cities. It baa only been plaed thus far in two cities in the ast New iork and Chicago and in the west at Denver and Salt Luke City. The production in this city will have the original New York cast and scenery. As an illustration of the completeness that has been paid to details regardless of expense, it may be mentioned that four negroes travel with the company simply to sing plantation melodies back of the scenes in the third act, wljich is one of the most realistic scenes of nature ever placed on the stage, and was declared in New York to be the most beautiful scenic achievement of the season.
