Here In Utah we lack for nothings We have gold, silver, copper, coal and irou in our hills and mountains. Wo have great herds of horses, cattle, sheep and swine; orchards of fruit and lields of grain groaning under their weight of quantity, and iu their season perfuming our valleys with their rich fragrance. This is but a brief item, and it does not pretend to more than foreshadow that which would take volumes to properly describe; but, to our good Boston friends we desire to state that the people to be found here, as well as elsewhere in the West, are composed of the highest type of manhood. As a rule they are highly intelligent, thoroughly educated and wide awake to the interests of their beautiful homes and the general development of the country in which they live. Asa matter of convenience we have three daily newspapers in .the city of Ogden, from the columns of which we glean the news of the civilziled world of every day: hence the sending us stale newspapers, almanacs, floral guides and Sabbath school lessons, two years out or date. The best thing these good people could do would be to load a car with missionaries and send them out here to make a personal investigation and afterward return with their report to that class of people who have their present way of thinking.
