They are getting their bodes into shape and wheo ready will be in a position to turn out first cl&sa work. Tba rash of business in tha abstract office u a good indication of what Ogdeo realty is doing. Many partLae are preparing additions for the market and getting their abstracts ready for business. Let Ui em come. Ogden eon stand it. Lee Gibson, of the firm of Graves Gibson, money brokers, returned yesterday from a thirty days' trip east. He was found at his office, 2100 Washington avenue, and in response to the reporter's usual inquiry as to his trip replied: "I viaiiad Denver, Omaha, Dea Moines, and a number of the smaller tow ns of Iowa. I saw no place during the thirty days absence that I would be dling to accept as a place of residence rather than Ogden. People throughout Iowa and Nebraska are looking toward Ogden with great deal of interest, and are expecting great things of her. I found one section where Utah was almost an unknown land, until recently. The special edition of "The, Coumkbcial," which was sent out a short time since, has awakened a lively interest among those peeple relative to Utah as a farming country. "If Ogden could do a little advertising hi the farming district and call the at tention of the agricultural world a little more to our wonderfully productive valley it would cause an influx of an immense farming population. Many people whom I met had visited this section, and it seemed the almost universal opinion of those people that Ogden was the coming centre of Utah. 'Halt Lake City,' they would say, 'is a nice town, but Ogden seems to be the centre, both in railroads and agriculture. It is only a question of a few years when the capital city of Utah will assume the position of the capital cities of other territories and states L e., second to the commercial centre.' I found numbers of people laying their plans tor a spring trip to Ogden. People who have plenty of money, too; those who are dissatisfied with the returns from their present investments, and are seeking new fields of investment. Many business men talked with me in regard to coming to Ogden and entering into the various linos of trade. One firm in Knozville, Iowa, large manufacturers, spent considerable time with me in seeking information on the advisability of removing their entire plant to this .city. A member of this firm was here last spring, and could arrangements have been satisfactorily made, hip firm would have been here today carrying on a busig manufacturing ness. However, I am instructed to look for them now, up the opportunities here and if successful they will move here, bringing some thirty families with them. Ogden needs to encourage this class of investors. They are those who build up ' a city." "How did you find the money market east?" "The money situation has been extremely hard in most of the eastern cities I visited. However, the 'nip' has passed, and plenty of 'the needful' is now in circulation. We shall have an abundance of money for loaning purposes within thirty days. I might have brought some money with me for investment, but as the parties to whom it belonged are coming this way soon, I preferred to have them come and invest for themselves." "How did you find business in Pes v Moines?" "Des Moines is the deadest city I have seen in a long time. I have known the place for many years. Ten years I lived there, and it seems to me that it is going backward every day. There has not been a new building put up in the business streets in ten years. I found quite a number of men there who are looking this way for investment, and I expect they will get out here this tpring." "Ogden is all right. Not only do people think so who live here, but the outside world thinks so, too. Money will be plenty here this spring, and real estate is bound to have a good market. The man who pins his faith to Ogden and invests his money here will hot lose anything. - Kil. 'van. t tUil .S 30 tm Iwnitj-i- fortoe Cx3 KxUB foot c four at 86 a tree, k .............
