Seely Management Division Facilities design is simple as pushing a button, thanks to a computer-aide- d design system in the Plant Management Division, Directorate of Maintenance. CAD is a relatively new system developed by . the Engineering Design Section for solving basewide design problems from computer work stations located in the Directorate of Maintenance. Someday, CAD may be tied into the supply system, automatically reserving items needed for any design modifications. When finished, CAD users will be able to zoom in to any facility on base, relocating equipment on a com combined Viewing. Eventually, installation and maintenance information, technical notes and safety precautions for every bit of equipment will be stored in the computer aided system. Data will be shared among organizations through a third CAD system run on a central prime computer. Currently, CAD work is done using a 0 computer. A Hewlett-Packar300 computer has been purchased. A CAD camera for scanning engineering drawings and text for instant computer input is on order. Z-10- d Relocation tax implemented; appointments are scheduled A new entitlement known as Relocation Income Tax Allowance is being implemented by the Accounting and Finance Branch, Comptroller. Under Public Law the new entitlement is designed to reimburse certain civilian employees for all of the added federal, state and local income taxes they may incur as a result of receiving permanent change of station moving expense reimbursements.
