Elbert Mackey When sufficient traffic has accumulated in the inbound lanes, incoming traffic is allowed to proceed one vehicle at a time, as long as the inbound lanes remain blocked by other incoming vehicles. The outbound lanes of traffic remain closed until the alarm activation is investigated and cleared by responding Security Police patrols. Closure of the gates may cause an inconvenience for some, especially during peak traffic periods, but the practice is essential to provide the proper protection of USAF resources. This procedure fully the USAF Resources complies with AFR 125-3Protection Program. 2849th Security Police Squadron Q: I have been late for work on several occasions because Security Police have stopped all traffic entering and exiting the base. Why do Security Police have to inconvenience so many people? A: The closing of base entry and exit points occurs due to alarm activations. These alarms may be exercise alarms, invalid alarms, or actual alarms. When an alarm occurs, Security Police must assume a robbery is taking place and patrols respond immediately to the scene. Concurrently, outbound and inbound traffic lanes at all base gates are closed to prevent an escape. 7, If you have a question for Security Police, call it in.
