They play three games each week on a rotating schedule. In addition to having a really good time, the girls learn sportsmanship, playing skills and rules of the game. By developing these skills now, they will be better prepared as Varsity players of the future. The girls arc coached by members of the Varsity Volleyball team. This not only teaches the older girls leadership skills, but reinforces their playing skills as they impart knowledge and techniques to the younger girls. In small towns, with limited social opportunities, programs like this are vital. The kids enjoy playing, the parents and students enjoy watching and following the games. It's just a lot of good healthy fun. Special thanks to Pam Durrani for supplying material for this article. plfnrt Monitor Alice Smith: EditorPublisher Ad Deadline 5:P.M.
