The Secrets of Sourdough Revealed A rural Utahn has written a colorful little book entitled "The Secrets of Sourdough " wherein he describes the physical properties that makes sourdough a perpetual food source if handled properly. Sourdough has long been with mankind because it not only tastes good in its many applications but it also has the ability to reproduce itself in a very short period of time, making it an ideal supplement to meal planners in the home kitchen and outdoor applications alike. The author, Ned Ericksen of Moroni has been tending his sourdough for many years and recently was inspired to write the book because a lot of people were asking questions and seeking "starts." Many of these people subsequently had limited success and wondered why their sourdough apparentlyl died. Ericksen has researched the subject thoroughly, has developed and tested many recipes, which are included in the book and even offers a free "start" of sourdough with the purchase of the book. He has filled the volume also with colorful stories, anecdotes and what he calls "philosophical insights". To quote from the preface of the book he states.... "Sourdough thusry becomes a metaphor for living. We get back what we put in, and the more we put in the more we get back." This book is a must for any and all individuals who enjoy cooking, who would like to try their hand at baking or as a gift from someone who wants their gift to keep on giving to that special person for many years to come. "Uncle Ned" as he is affectionately called by family, friends and associates alike has his roots in Sanpete County, where he herded sheep as a boy in the summers up until after he had married and graduated from B.Y.U. The book sells for only $11.95 and is available by mail-ordonly from "Uncle Ned" P. O. Box 568, Moroni, Utah 84646. er t s? A RaCail Carter celebrated her first birthday, October 19, 1997.
