A song that was popular for may years speaks to us today as we are facing problems that darken our lives. What does it say to you? To me it says that each one of us in facing a condition that blinds us to the possibilities that can brighten our hopes. We are in a state that calls for sunshine so we can more effectively view and cope with those things that are not clear and easily visible. There is a darkness of self doubt, another of lack of love to iluminate our relationships that would make us glad to be alive. We say we are In darkness when the path before us is, or appears to be, unclear and foreboding. We relate sunshine to that joyous, vigorous, warm and friendly experience of life that enables us to view everything around us as pleasant and productive. It is the time when the world is bathed in the beauty of light. Apppropriately we may think of the light of the world as Surely all the world was waiting for the "Son" shine. When it came the world ws never again the same. Everyday our God has given us both "sunshine"and " for our Ulunination, offering us a clear, bright and joyful path for our daily activities. This is a gift we take for granted and fail to use for our fullest advantage. If we of the world will it, there is no need to fear the dark. Surely as the sun fades or the 'Son" is not In our lives, we will fear the shadow that overtakes us. May we always walk In the light and light the way for others, for the truth is ..."All the world is waiting for the "Son-riseCatch the Spirit "Son-shine- "Son-shine- ". |
