Show mm m HHHvwLLLLB HBMBj Drive safely during Memorial Day Weekend Hi Pk - Feedback To The Citizens Of Beaver County: One of my objectives as Beaver County Sheriff Is to work closely with other police agencies to protect the citizens of Beaver County on a deputy Is At this time, duty-bou- to respond. hereby relieve Mllford City Police of any responsibility to patrol county areas. We have appreciated their assistance t continue in a good and wish relati ushlp. If they care working to make out a schedule which rotates daysnights and weekdays weekends, whereby we canstillcon-tinu- e coverage to the county as a whole, we will be willing to place a deputy on It. Beaver City has also been offered the same arrangement, but, at present, has rejected It. My offer to basis. Earlier this year, the Sheriff's Department and Mllford City Police entered into an agreement whereby a deputy would be scheduled to cover certain shifts In Milford City. Mllford police, In return, would patrol certain areas outside the corporate limits. It was hoped that this plan would alleviate the problems of overtime and lack of coverage being experienced by both agencies. Apparently, there seems to be a problem concerning this scheduling. Chief Burel W.Scott, Mllford, states In a letter to me that he has received complaints from several parties in Mllford that a deputy was unavailable to take calls at the time he was scheduled to cover Mllford City. The Sheriff's Department is res -ponsible for the protection of all the citizens of Beaver County, those living inside the corporate limits as well as those folks living out in the county. May I stress the fact that even though the deputy was scheduled to cover Milford City, his responsibility extends county -- wide. If there is a problem out in the county, my e county-wid- I them still stand-- , as It does to Milford City; if a rotating schedule can be worked out where we can cover the county as a whole, we will be willing to participate. As Sheriff of Beaver County, I want all the citizens to feel free to call at any time we can be of assistance. May I again emphasize my feelings that those who live within limits are as much my corporate responsibility as those who live In the county areas. My door is always open to discuss any problem.
