Uu'R-tC--J' Kathy Acklin is the 1987 Five Cents for Life residential campaign chairman of the American Heart Association Utah Affiliate's campaign In the Milford and Minersville Area. Kathy will direct volunteers efforts to educate citizens about the human toll of heart disease and stroke in our area. Volunteers will also ask for contributions from individuals at their homes in support of the AHA's research, education and community service programs from February 6 to 15, 1987. New research will help us continue to benefit from medical discoveries and reduce the rate of death from heart disease and stroke, America's number one killers. We want people to be generously old when the Five Cents for Life volunteer contacts their home. Burns to retire Fifth District Judge J. Harlan Burns, 60, is retiring after 16 years on the bench, effective Immediately. "I am taking a full disability retirement for medical reaons," Judge Burns said of his decision to retire. "My experience on the bench has been very enjoyable arl rewarding. I will miss it greatly." Upon learning of Judge Burns retirement, Chief Justice Gordon R. Hall said, "Judge Burns has served for many years in a single judge district which requires a tremendous amount of fortitude and understanding In dealing with the many problems facing the District.
