Show Tiger mafmon bring home foam trophy Milford High School Wrestling Squad attended the Beaver High Invitational Team Tournament Sat. Jan 3, and brought home the Championship Trophy. This tournament Is different from most as teams wrestle against other full teams, and the team scoring' most points, advance to wrestle other teams. i Milford's first opponent was Piute. In this match, Eric Barnes (112) was pinned by Dean Westwood, Jason Davis (119) won by major decision 14-- 0 over Mike Christen-se- n, at 126 Robbie Romine won by technical pin over Brent Bell. At 132, lbs, Jason Carter won by pin over Kent Bagley, at 138 lbs, Da vid Bonner won by pin over Taylor Jenkins, at 145, Ryan Puffer won by pin over Mark Price, at 155, Brett Allen lost by pin to Shaun Evans. Ml Tigac b By The Milford Tiger J.V.Team split games this past weekend as they lost a close one at home and catured a close one on the road. Friday the Beaver Beavers were in town to challenge the Young Tigers. The game was a typical Beaas the leaU ver Milford match-u- p changed several times. Milton' jumped out early and took a 16-lead at the end of the first period. Beaver then came back in the second, to outscore the Tigers and went to the locker room with a 0 lead. Following intermission the Beavers were able to keep ahead of the Tigers and lead at the end of the 8. third The final period saw -- ce 18-1- 35-3- 56-4- the Tigers outscore the Beavers. However the Beavers were able to hang on to the win, as Milfords last shot (a three pointer) bounced off the rim in the final seconds. -- Beaver. Final score was 64-The Tigers were 8 of 12 from the charity stripe while Beaver shot 9 of 21. Leading the way for the Tigers was Todd Baxter with 22 points. Ryan Willden added 17, Jason Thomas 11, Brian Marshall 6, Preston Asay 4, and Jared Gronning scored 2. Panguitch came back during the third period to stretch their lead to six points but the Tigers were determined not to give up. During the final period Milford came on strong and battled back and forth for the lead. It wasnt until the final seconds that the winner was determined. Final score was 71 -- 69 for Milford. Willden lead all scores putting in 38 including 3 pointers for the Tigers. Baxter had 21 points, B. Marshall and Gronning each added 4, and Erickson and J. Thomas each had 2. Baxter pulled in 9 rebounds while B. Marshall had 7. Willden had 5, Asay 3, Gronning and Erickson each had 2, and J. Thomas 1.
