The employee used the coupon for a personal trip, rather than turning it into the government as required. The traveler then becomes eligible for free tickets to varying locations and for increasingly better classes of service, dependent upon total mileage flown. Managers should be alert to employees who may attempt to patronize a particular airline for fares on official trips in order to earn ' mileage toward free tickets for personal use.
