Organizations can either be given the name of a family to sponsor through the base chapel, or submit a family of their own knowledge. Families whose names are submitted by base organizations will be called for a qualification interview by either the Ogden Salvation Army or the Davis 388 history best TAC AFB Officers' Club. In a letter of commendation presented to the sergeant by Col. Troy Tolbert, 388 TFW commander, General Bacon wrote, "MSgt. Canivan did an outstanding job discussing the acceptance of the 6 by the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing and the superb way the wing handled the transition from the F--4 to the new aircraft The entire coverage was well documented."
