Show HILL TOP TIMES Page 18 August 10, 1979 Mill cadets place first in drilling Minuteman Weber The Composite Squadron of Hill AFB recently placed first in drill competition at the Civil Air Patrol Utah Wing meet held at the University of Utah stadium. Both drill and non-dri- ll competitions were held, including Regulation, Innovative and Inspection Drills; Drill Team Commanding Officer; written tests; and physical fitness. Competing from the Weber Squadron were six cadets and Paula Burke, Other squadrons represented were Mount Olympus and Enterprise. The Weber squadron is open to both seniors and cadets in grades 7 and up, according to Capt. Ann Henneman, squadron commander. The announcement highlighted a luncheon during which 19 candidates were introduced to a full house in the NCO Club banquet room Tuesday. in the Plans and Barbara E. Coleman, a clerk-typi- st Programs Directorate, was named first attendant. Kathy Leatherwood, a supply clerk in Distribution, is second attendant. Debra Crapo, Contracting and Manufacturing Directorate, was elected Miss Congeniality by secret ballot of the 19 candidates. Preceding the naming of the new queen and her attendants, Peggy Martin made her final bow as the reigning queen. She congratulated each of the three women as they took center stage and accepted bouquets from Brig. Gen. Cornelius Nugteren, Ogden ALC vice commander and 1979 Northern Utah Combined Federal Campaign chairman. Outgoing first and second attendants, Trina Nelson and Vangie Charlton, were among personalities and officials honored with introductions by Lt. Col. John Slocum, master of ceremonies.
