Conley Jr., Air Force Flight Test Center commander, today announced that the Center has assumed management of a new major range complex, the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR). EDWARDS AFB, Calif. Area operate The UTTR encompasses an area which the Hill and Wendover Test Ranges and a part of the formerly accommodated own facilities, including Management Dugway Proving Ground. Management of the UTTR will encompass 1.7 million acres of land. From the viewpoint THE SECRETARY of Defense has : designated the Air Force as the Executive agent and single manager for the range. Air Force Systems Command (AFSC) is the implementing command, and AFFTC the responsible field command. The original Hill - Wendover - Dugway complex was managed and operated by Air Force Logistics Command's (AFLC) Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill, and by the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command -Dugway Proving Ground. Various users of ground area covered, airspace management will include 3.6 million acres of restricted airspace, 2.7 million additional acres of airspace extension, and 4.2 million more acres of airspace available as military operating areas. A microwave linkup with Edwards AFB and the Edwards Range adds a considerable range capability to DoD.
