All Traffic at West Gate Pay phone in Bldg. 845, Whse. 22 Q The employees in Bldg. 845, Whse. 22 need a pay telephone. There are approximately 40 employees in this area and we have no access to a phone. Any help you can give us would be appreciated. A A Mountain Bell has been contacted concerning your request and they will survey your work location to determine if a pay phone would be commercially profitable for their company. If so, the phone will be installed at their earliest convenience. Dress code at Dining Hall Q A Q Why is the Base Dining Hall allow ing people to eat there in sweatshirts, wet suits and shorts? The articles of clothing you mention are not specifically prohibited in the dining hall. What is prohibited is any personal dress or grooming which is unsanitary. If a person is wearing clothing which is clearly unsanitary, the dining hall supervisor will take appropriate action if he notices the person or the matter is brought to his attention. If you notice a person whose dress or grooming is clearly unsanitary, please bring it to that person's attention or to the dining hall supervisor's attention. He will take appropriate action. We all share responsibility along with the dining hall staff in assuring that our fellow military personnel uphold the standards of civilian dress and appearance. Why hasn't there been a guard directing traffic at the West Gate at the end of the 3:30 p.m. shift? Normally, a guard is posted at the West Gate at this time. There are occasions when an emergency may arise which could cause a delay in establishing the traffic point. These occurrences are infrequent and we regret any inconvenience caused. Performing as an alternate is not a ranking factor in the consideration for future promotion. Promotions are based on merit and take into consideration those characteristics such as outstanding performance, initiative, cooperativeness, loyalty, as well as training, skill, knowledge and experience. Rotation of Maintenance supervisors Q My question concerns rotation of alternate supervisors in the Directorate of Maintenance. Why doesn't management rotate these alternates, thereby giving lower ranking personnel a chance to show what they can do in that type position? A Rotation and selection of alternate supervisors in the Directorate of Maintenance is accomplished in accordance with the Agreement, Article 30.
