All Turned off air compressor Q work the midnight shift and on the way to work one night I noticed I had a low tire so I stopped by the Base Service Station to use the air compressor. When I tried to use it, I found that it was turned off. I would like to know why this can't be left on? A Because of repeated vandalism and as an energy conservation and safety measure, the air compressor is turned off during hours when the Service Station is not staffed. The compressor retains sufficient air to fill several tires if the air is not released intentionally. The air hose has been cut and the air nozzle stolen repeatedly. If the compressor were left on, this type of vandalism would cause the compressor to run continuously and burn out the motor.
