Show FISH AND GAME HIGHLIGHTS The fishery program was outlined outlin-ed this week by the department of fish and game for several of Utah' man-made lake which were chemically chem-ically treated during 1959. Pineview, Palisade, Holme Creek and Tropic reservoirs will be closed to angling during I960, with each being stacked with small game fish which are expected to mature to catchable and larger size prior to the reopening of these four waters in 1961. One of these, Holme Creek Re-ervoir Re-ervoir in Davis county, will be restocked re-stocked with large mouth bass. The other three will be planted with rainbow fingerling. Three reservoirs, Minersville, Baker and Koosharem, will open to angling with the regular season on June 4 this year. Each have been planted with advanced rainbow fingerling, are lower elevation water wa-ter and ihould provide good creel return thi year, Cleveland Reservoir will open to angling July 4 this year and has been stocked with advanced fingerling finger-ling rainbow. Nine Mile Reservoir was restocked restock-ed with advanced fingerling rainbow rain-bow last December, is now open to all-year angling, and i expected to produce good return of catchable sized fish this spring. Release of seven more turkeys in the East Zion planting site was announced an-nounced today by the Utah Department Depart-ment of Fish and Game. These wild birds, five female and two male, came from the Arizona department as did two earlier plants made in this area. The two previous plant of eleven and fifteen turkey were made in 195 7 and 1958, respectively, and add up to a total of 33 birds planted plant-ed at this site. |
