Show MAST Office Opens Doors To Married Airmen The Married Airmen Sharing Together (MAST) marks ; the program beginning of a new program at Hill, designed specifically to aid married first termers adjust to military and married life. Instruction in English are now being offered on base and others in citizenship preparation, driving education, cooking (Continued On Page 26) ifesfTJi LZJiCJ OGDEN, UTAH Early Retirement Option Approved For Ogden ALC Early retirement has been approved by the U.S. Civil Service Commission for three Air Force Logistic Command Air Logistics Centers. The early retirement option means that civilian personnel at Oklahoma City, Ogden and San Antonio Air Logistic Centers can take advantage of civil service provisions pertaining to facilities undergoing major reduction in force (RIF). The option was not approved for ALCs and Sacramento and Warner-Robin- s n AFB. Reconsideration may be requested for Warner-Robin- s and Personnel at any age, with 25 years service, or age 50 with at least 20 years of service are eligible to retire under the Wright-Patterso- Wright-Patterso- n. option. Age and length of service determine annuity upon retirement. Many AFLC employes are eligible for retirement under the option period. The number of people electing to retire under the option may influence the number to be involuntarily separated at the end of the fiscal year. To take advantage of this opportunity, civilians must apply and retire not later than April 30, 1976. For further information, contact the Entitlement Section, Civilian Personnel Division, ext. 6142. COLA Counts In reference to the early retirement option, the chief of the Ogden ALC Chilian personnel Branch points out that employes should not be too concerned if they cannot establish their retirement dale prior to the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) of 5.4 percent effective March 1, 1976 in order to take advantage of the comparative annuity compulation back to the last COLA of 5.1 per cent effective Aug. 1, 1975. In most cases, the greater annuity benefit will be the earned annuity rate computed as of service credit and high three salary as of Feb. 29, 1976, plus the 5.4 per cent COLA. In those few instances where the latter computation results in a lesser annuity, employes may request and be granted Leave Without Pay (LWOP) commencing March 1, 1976, to insure comparative computation back to July 1, 1975. Other MAST Assistance Fund Campaign include a MAST Fair to be held March 5 from 8 a.m. to noon at Thornton Hall. Its purpose will be to orient first term airmen and their spouses to the Air Force and Hill Air Force Base.
