Show November 29, Don't be weekend! ee K. Hilmcr Jay "Weekend Athletes?" Are you one?. Typical of this set are the first and second termers who think themselves quite a sport and often reflect on their prowess as an athlete in their , high school and college days. by SSgt. e the athlete weighed 165 pounds 190 to closer but pounds now. He rides to work weighs college LOOKING BACK, in one-tim- his comfortable rented and from car a few steps from his office and proceeds to he shuffles paper (important papers, granted) mental gymnastics are fantastic. He thinks hard because he has to, and his section benefits by his decisions. A luncheon engagement at the club provides a few moments of diversion (and more calories than he will burn today), and then it's back to the desk and on with the "paper parade." His THAT NIGHT he's too tired and too after dinner to even carry out the trash. Once he has settled himself into his chair in front of the TV, the only exercise he'll get is the walk well-fe- d 1 II from his easy chair to the channel selector and back. Not all his days are like this, however. The trouble may start over a weekend, while moving furniture around the house, or SPORTS SHORTS 1 & & & i - 1 -- w meets Ski club o playing a game of basketball in the gym. Or it may begin during a winter snow storm, while trying to clear the front walk or push the car out of a drift. These seemingly easy activities may result in a sprained ankle, a pulled shoulder, extreme fatigue, unbelievably sore muscles, or a more serious warning (like a heart attack) that "the 'ole bod' ain't what she used to be." Sometimes it takes several weeks to recover-sometimyou don't ever recover. es IF YOU FEEL coming on, slow down! You know you should take time to exercise and build up, so why not spend a few minutes every day making yourself healthy. There's a club in Cleveland where 30 men who have had heart attacks exercise regularly, intensely, and together. Reports are that there is no problem motivating these men to exercise now. (AFPS) over-exerti- and closes a deal by phone. ; The ski season is just around the corner, so plan now to attend the Hill Ski Club meeting on Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. at the Hill Golf Course Clubhouse. The meeting will feature ski movies, plus final details for the trip to Grand Targhee.
