This is because care is not being taken to protect these children with sensitive skin from the strong early summer sun. Exposure time is excessive. The best therapy is prevention of the burn. It is solely the parents' respon- sibility to be sure their children are not exposed excessively to strong sun. The children are not wise enough to tell when they have had too much sun. Parents must pay attention and tell them when they have had enough sun and or put protective covering on them - such as hats, shirts and suntan lotion. It is no excuse to say "I told him but he wouldn't do what I said" when referring to young children. It is your responsibility, Mom and Dad! Col. John V.
