They didn't tell us at first what the exact mission was. . .we had no idea until later in the training," said Sergeant Wright. "The training for the mission was conducted at Eglin AFB. They had completely duplicated the prison camp for training purposes. started training in August and continued into Novemlx-r- . "My job was flight engineer on an (Jolly (ireen Giant). When we touched down I was to lead the prisoners through the camp and to the helicopters," Sergeant Wright said. He continued. "Before we moved out for the choppers my job was to calm the men down. At that time of the morning there probably would have been some panic." Sergeant Wright, like the others on the raid, were gravely disappointed when they found no prisoners in camp. "It gave me a sick, empty feeling," he said. "It was hard to believe. Here we were, right in the tiger's mouth, and there was nothing.
