Most of the three dozen works of art in the exhibit are Oriental subjects or have an Oriental flavor. Mrs. Siemens studied oils under Japanese teachers while assigned to Tachikawa AFB between 1956 and 1960. Two years later, while they were stationed at Kadena AFB, on Okinawa, Mrs. Siemens continued her art studies which she had begun as a student at Ogden High and Weber State College. She had done illustrations for the Pacific edition of "Stars and Stripes", and fashion illustrations for the Utah Tailoring Mills catalogue. On Exhibit One of her favorite creations is the copy of Vermeer's "Maid Servant Pouring Milk", which is in the current base library exhibit. "I like portrait work best," she commented, "for it is in faces that the interesting stories lie.
