The result was a flood of several hundred packages that will be delivered by these "Subs for Santa" in time for Christmas. Needy Families To raise funds for two needy families, members of the Data Control Section Data Products Division, served lunch to about 90 coworkers in Bldg. 1224. Hot dogs and trimmings were furnished by the section members. Cochairwomen were Norma Stephens and Virginia Palmer. Chili and crackers were sold by the Maintenance Data Branch to assist in their "Sub for Santa" drive. Lee Neilson and Afton Greenwell spearheaded this project. Clothing and toys are being purchased for a mother and six children ranging from 7 to Pies and candy were auctioned off to the highest bidder in a unique campaign sponsored by the Data Control Branch who will use the funds to make a happier holiday for their "adopted" family. One year the RAPCON gave a complete Christmas dinner to the family of a Log Air pilot missing in the Colorado mountain; another time the donation went to the family of a policeman killed in line of duty just before Christmas.
