Air Force certificates of retirement and commendation medals have bees presented to two Hill AF military, personnel, both veterans of over 20 years service. , ?rTl " . i.. .i Stanley Spell of the awards were Recipients MSgt. Robert R. Stanley, former line n, chief, flight line maintenance 4677th Defense Systems Evaluation Squadron; and MSgt. James E. ofSpell, former ficer in charge of the 4677th's reports, records, and analysis section. Col. Lewis P. Boone, 4677th Commander, commended him for his "inherent ability to supervise" and "his technical ability and desire for exactness in his work." Col. Boone also cited Sgt. Spell for his "untiring efforts to implement the reorganization and indoctrinate supervisors" during the squadron's transition from reciprocating engine to jet engine aircraft. Native of San Antonio, Texas, Sgt. Stanley entered the service in September, 1939. He has had overseas assignments in India, Burma, China, and two tours in Germany. The sergeant arrived at Hill in August, 1959. He plans to remain in the surrounding area where he has a civilian position. He lives with his wife, Margaret, and sons, Robert, 17, and Thomas, 13, in Sunset. Sgt. Spell entered the service in September. . 1939. His overseas as signments include tours of duty in Ainca and Italy. He came to Hill in May, 1954. Upon his arrival at Hill. Set.
