The SAGE funds requested would provide for a Direction Center Building at each site. SAGE is that part of the Continental Air Defense System which processes air surveillance information, and controls and directs fighter inter ception aircraft and guided mis siles. Other Bomarc sites announced earlier by the AF will be at Dow AFB, Me.; McGuire AFB, N. J.; Otis AFB, Mass., and Suffolk County AFB, Long Island, N. Kappmeyer, wife of Captain Charles Kappmeyer, has traveled to many bases with her husband and four children. Now she is preparing to join her husband at Tachikawa, Japan. Mrs. Kappmeyer's motto has been to join in community affairs and find some way to keep busy and help' other people. While at Hill AFB she' has . managed the base Kindergarten for two years. She is proud of the letter of appreciation she recently received from Maj. Gen. P. H. Robey, OOAMA Commander, commending her for the "superior way she conducted the school." Mrs. Kappmeyer has also joined in civic affairs. She taught 23 local girl scouts, taught Sunday School, and wrote and directed a vaudeville show for the Ogden Eagles.
