A native of Utah, he was among the first employees of Hill AFB. He first started as a mechanic learner in August, 1941, later transferring to Instrument Repair. During World War II, he joined the Air Force and served (1W3-1D4Air Enwith a 9 in and India gineering Squadron the Marianas Islands. Upon his discharge from the service, he returned to Hill AFB.
