Show two weeks vacation, in Caliifornda with relatives. House guests last week at the 'home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Groves Grov-es were Mrs. Groves' sister Mrs. Dorothy Jerard and brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bufftnig-ton, Bufftnig-ton, all of Brockport, Pa. A delightful de-lightful family 'gathering honoring honor-ing the visitors was held at Am-icrican Am-icrican Fork canyon on Wednesday Wednes-day evening of last week. Twenty 'three were present. Last Friday Mr. and Mrs. Groves drove the : visitors to Las Vegas, Nev., from i where they departed toy 'bus lor i Los Angeles, Calif., where they will visit with other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brisk and daughter, Linda, and Mr. amd Mrs. Wayne Hansen spent the 4th week end at the Brisk cabin in Provo canyon. Allan Brisk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brisk, has enlisted in the navy. He left July 1 toy Western West-ern Air Lines for San Diego, Calif., to begin 'boot training. ine, Edith, and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Walker and children of Granger, Mr. and Mrs. Earl DeCol and children, Randy and Lynette of Riverton and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Densley and children, Cindy and Douglas, of Kearns. Bobbie and Cathy Calderwood of Kearns spent Monday and Tuesday visiting with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cow-jdoll. Cow-jdoll. I Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Stoddort ; and son, Jiimimy, were dinner : guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Stoddart and family of Salt Lake City. The dinner honored Boyd's birthday anniversary. Mrs. Louis DeCol and family, Maxine, Richard, and Edith spent Tuesday afternoon in Kearns visiting vis-iting with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Densley and children, Cindy and Douglas. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zanardi and daughters, Betty and Ann Marie, were visitors July 4th at the heme of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Arko and children, Rose Ann and Eddie, of West Jordan. Mr. and Ms. Marvin Throckmorton Throck-morton and daughter, Peggy, returned re-turned home June 28 after spend ing a couple of weeks visiting in Hay wood, Calif., and Yosemite remainder of the week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Frisch and children of Oakland. Mrs. Eva May McAllister and daughter, Virginia, enjoyed a visit Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Reed Arnold of GranKor. Mrs. Jack Knudsen and daughters, dau-ghters, Karen and Krista, and Mrs. R. G. Poulsen and daughters, daugh-ters, Pauls and Glcnda, enjoyed an outing at Saratoga Thursday. The event was held to honor Krista who was celebrating her fifth birthday. iMr. and Mrs. Ben McAllister and children, Bonny and Virginia and guest Linda Miller of Kearns were guests June 24th of Mr. and Mrs. John Arnold and family of Granger. About 20 others attended. atten-ded. A lovely supper was served. Copperton Ward MIA held an enjoyable outing at Saratoga Tuesday. After a delightful swim lunches were opened and eaten. The MIA furnished drinks for all. Everyone enjoyed themselves very much. Mr. and Mrs. Art Fike and Ben Tall spent the 4th week end in Winnemucca, Nev., visiting with their sons. Bill Fike and Doug Tall, wlio are working there this summer. They left last Thursday night and returned Sunday. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gust were Mr. and Mrs. Hal Meyerhoffer and daughter of Salt Lake City. Mr. Meyerhoffer who is in the navy, was recently transferred to Salt Lake from San Diego, Calif. Dinner guests Monday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Art Fike were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ford of El Segundo, Calif. Mrs. Kenneth Davis and children, child-ren, Kenny and Janie, of Mid-vale Mid-vale visited Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Art Fike. Mrs. Blanche Evans of Helper is visiting with her sisters, Mrs. Dewey Mayne and Mrs. Ruth Hudson. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kanniainen and children, Sandra and Roland, returned Monday from a very enjoyable two weeks vacation. They spent a week at Mirror 'Iike and spent the rest of the tune touring through Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Nichols, Mrs. Jane Rice of Midvale and Mrs. Vard Tucker from Delta returned re-turned Tuesday evening from a vorv enjoyable 10-day vacation to Newport, Ore. COPPERTON WARD PRIMARY CARNIVAL SET JULY 23 Copperton Ward Primary is holding its annual carnival at the Copperton wardhouse parking park-ing lot on Wednesday, July 23, starting at 4 p.m. and everyone is cordially invited to attend the fun event. There will be concessions, conces-sions, cake walks, hot dogs and hamlburgers for sale and also a bake sale. In the evening there will be a teen age dance with all invited to come, with Lamar Berrctt's orchestra providing the music. There will be a children's parade around the block at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday night, the CYO Club held a farewell party (for Father Daz Who is leaving the parish, and Sandra Preloran who is moving to Midvale. The party was held in the recreation haill of the Immaculate Conception visiting a few days at Aspen, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hazel and daughter. Carolyn, of San Antonio, An-tonio, Tex., were guests Saturday through Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben McAllister. Arriving here late Saturday evening ev-ening they enjoyed church Sunday Sun-day and visited with Dr. and Mrs. George Albert Wimmer and family of Ogden, Dr. and Mrs. Lee Jarvis and family of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bawder and family of Granger. Monday they enjoyed trips to the Bingham mine. Temple Tem-ple Square and the BYU campus at Provo. Later that evening they enjoyed a beach party at Great Salt Lake followed by a delicious chicken dinner. They left Tuesday morning to resume their trip which will take them to Mesa, Ariz., and southern California after which they will return heme. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Deakm on July 4th were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Marks and sons, Mike and David, of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Long left July 4th to journey to Santa Clara, Calif., where they will attend the funeral of Bill Long, former resident of Copperton. Mr. Long died Thursday, July 3. On Tuesday, July 1, Copperton Ward Sunday School Course 9 held an outing at the Saratoga swimming resort under the direction di-rection of their teacher, Mrs. Bonnie Malan. Swiiruming and a picnic were enjoyed. Those attending at-tending were Grant Milner, Benny Ben-ny and Virginia McAllister, Brent Scroggin, Norma Jean Bouiton, Ann Stocks, and guests, Tracy MaLan and Charlesne Ray. A fun time was had hy all. Mr. and 'Mrs. Martin Jensen sipent the week end fishing at the Granddaddy Lakes in the high Uintahs. Wednesday Mrs. Mae Bdthell and grandson invited Barry Osoro, Billv Osoro, Tommy Pa-zell Pa-zell and Benny McAllister to attend an outdoor movie where they enjoyed "The Bridge on the River Kwali".
